The land of this reserve belongs to the humid subtropical zones. Its extensions are 3,186 acres that are divided in three segments: Mandri, Santa Teresa and the Pterocarpus swamp area. This estuary area supply six water bodies, Santa Teresa I, Santa Teresa II, Las Palmas and the three lagoons Mandri. This reserve has more than six miles trails for walking or biking, and also kayaking thru the interconnected lagoon system. Not too far from this area you can get to the historic place, the bunkers or observatory points that where constructed during the Second World War. A panoramic view of Humacao coast, of Vieques, Cayo Batata and Cayo Santiago can be enjoyed from Punta Morillo.

We will hike the trails of the reserve for around one and a half hour, in which you will observe a great variety of migratory birds, gorgeous trees, different type of waters, and impressive views of the east coast.  Have we set the mood yet?
